Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti discuss how they got into character during the production of Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but he was unsuccessful. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. He appears in Graham Norton and guest stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). So the first episode is done and it was perfect.
Sure, he wears a fat suit, but you would never know it. His posture, body language, voice, you immerse yourself in the character and see only Penguin. He is not like any other penguin that has appeared live on TV, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor. He is Scorsese’s gangster, but without the flowery language.
The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin on CW’s Gotham. Penguin is a middleman in a mafia organization. Up until now he has been serving his sentence, slowly rising up in the mafia, and then with the fallout of Riddler blowing up the city’s sea wall and the death of his boss in this movie, he sees a chance to move up in the world. Now begins the game of cross, double cross and, I suppose, triple cross.
